What to Expect at Your Chiropractic Service Appointment
Preparing For Your First Chiropractic Visit
Before your first chiropractic visit, it can be helpful to take a few steps to ensure you’re ready for your session. Start by completing any necessary forms, like the intake or pain-specific forms, which you can find on our website. These forms provide an in-depth look at your health history and current concerns, allowing us to tailor your care to your specific needs. Make sure to wear comfortable clothing that allows ease of movement, as some procedures may involve adjusting your posture or performing physical movements.
Bring a list of any medications you’re currently taking and be prepared to discuss your symptoms, lifestyle habits, and overall health goals. This information helps us create a comprehensive treatment plan. Finally, keep an open mind and ask any questions you might have about your treatment plan or chiropractic care in general. We’re here to make you feel comfortable and informed every step of the way.
During your first visit, the doctor will review your patient history and have a brief consultation to determine if chiropractic care would be helpful for your symptoms. Next, the doctor will complete a thorough examination and, if necessary, will take X-rays. The doctor will review the examination findings and X-ray findings with you during this first visit and review a plan of action for you. Following the review of the examination and X-rays, you will receive your first treatment.
Your first treatment may consist of physical therapy, nutritional consultation, supplement consultation and a chiropractic adjustment, depending on the treatment plan. Following the first treatment, the doctor will discuss the length of expected treatments and will schedule future appointments.
The Importance of Regular Visits
Regular visits typically take 15 - 30 minutes. When you arrive at the office you will initial your paperwork, your posture will be checked, and you will be taken to the back by the chiropractor assistant and provided therapy if needed. Then you will be seen by one of our doctors shortly after. After your adjustment, the doctor will have you rest for a few minutes before checking out at the front desk.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
• You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
• Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
• Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

Signs You May Need Chiropractic Treatment
Chiropractic care can help address a variety of conditions and symptoms, but how do you know when it’s the right time to see a chiropractor? One key indicator is recurring pain in areas like your back, neck, or joints. This type of discomfort could stem from poor posture, an injury, or a misalignment in your spine. If left unaddressed, it can affect your day-to-day activities and overall quality of life. We proudly serve residents across Fayetteville, Laurinburg, Lumberton, Hope Mills, Pembroke, and Fairmont, NC.
Other signs that chiropractic care may be beneficial include frequent headaches, reduced range of motion in your neck or back, or tingling sensations in your limbs, which could suggest nerve compression. Even if you’re not in pain, chiropractic adjustments may help with maintaining proper alignment, improving posture, and preventing future health issues. Stress, physical jobs, or even spending long hours sitting at a desk can all take a toll on your body, making regular visits an important part of your wellness routine. By listening to your body and seeking care when these signs arise, you can address discomfort early and support your overall well-being. If you’re experiencing any of these issues, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at Beck Chiropractic Center to learn how we can help.
